Chief of Staff

The role

Mimetic Machines builds learning and deployment environments for physical AI.

As Chief of Staff, you will work directly with the founders from Karachi. Your job is to extend their reach across the company and its partners, to structure and execute across a wide surface area, and to create the conditions in which the team does its best work. You will work with the founders every day, so expect the steepest learning curve of your career.

What you will do

• Run meticulous project management. You will hold the threads across dozens of topics and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. You work half a step ahead, spot bottlenecks before they happen, and follow through.
• Augment the founders' execution. You will prepare them for decisions, make sure things happen afterwards, and carry the workstreams that do not yet have an owner.
• Represent the company with partners. You will be the first point of contact for the organisations we work with, and you will keep those relationships strong between founder visits.
• Build the operating rhythm. You will set up the plans, reviews, and reporting that let a growing team run on its own, and you will keep them honest.
• Grow the team. You will help hire, onboard, and develop the people we bring on, and you will make sure every one of them knows what good looks like.

You might be a fit if

• You have a few years of experience in consulting, investing, operations, or a startup that grew quickly. You know how to structure chaos and are still hungry to learn.
• You have range and depth. You can switch context many times a day and still go deep when it counts.
• You write clearly and speak well in the room, in both Urdu and English.
• You bring calm and good judgement. You know what matters and what can wait, read people well, and hold them accountable with kindness.
• You see problems and fix them without being asked, and you stay persistent until they are done.
• You are based in Karachi for a demanding role that includes travel within the country and occasionally abroad.
